CEO and Co-Founder, Kin Therapy

Courtney Carlsson is a repeat mental health entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Kin
Therapy, building an AI-enabled care model for young people who need more than weekly
therapy. Kin combines clinical expertise with technology designed to deliver personalized,
intensive mental health care at scale, addressing a critical gap between traditional outpatient
treatment and hospitalization.
Previously, Courtney founded Paradym, a mental health app that reached more than 100,000
people. At Kin, she is building on that experience with AI-enabled technology that supports
clinicians, strengthens engagement, and extends support between sessions. Her focus is on
making high-quality, individualized care accessible to more families and expanding treatment
options beyond residential care.
Motivated by her own mental health journey and the loss of a cousin to suicide, Courtney brings
personal conviction to rethinking how and where young people receive treatment. She holds a
BA from Georgetown University, an MBA from London Business School, and a certificate in
Psychotherapy and Counseling.
